During the stone age, our forefathers were hunters and nomads.
They moved from one place to another in search of food and most times fought with wild animals.
Years later, they discovered that they can actually grow their foods and build their shelters.
So, they started by clearing the bush, tilling the land and nurture the plants.
To make things easier, they started inventing tools (cutlass, hoes, arrows etc) to make their lives easier.
As their population continued to grow, they discovered more advanced technology to use to farm (such as tractor) that allowed few of them to provide food for thousands of people.
Physical strength was extremely needed to achieved all these.
This is known as agricultural revolution.
Many years later, the smart guys among them created the industries.
These guys used a lot part of their brain to build these companies.
They employed other people to work there.
The employees only needed 1% of their brain to work while they relied more on their physical strength.
It was around this time they made education compulsory.
Not really to teach them how to build industries but how to obey orders, how to be punctual and tolerate long hours of tedious work.
Those with great ability to work for 14 hours a day in physical labour were rewarded handsomely.
